The resurrection of Jesus Christ brings believers into a resurrected life with Him.  We don't have to wait to experience eternal life, believers in Christ experience it now in this life.  

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:1-3)
